Webster Vienna Hosts Wellbeing Week as Student Mental Health Break
April 03, 2025
Webster Vienna Private University (WVPU) recently hosted Wellbeing Week, a collaborative effort that encouraged students and all members of Webster Vienna to take a break and focus on mental health and well-being.
Wellbeing Week was the result of a partnership among the Webster Vienna Psychology Department and Student Resource Center (SRC). Throughout the week, WVPU students had access to workshops, dance classes and relaxation sessions designed to help unwind, recharge and develop valuable stress management techniques.
Dr. Didem Savoly from the Psychology Department assisted the masters’ students to design meaningful workshops and coordinated the guest speakers. The workshops were led by Psychology master’s students Hilal Cam and Abigail Somma. Each session provided practical tools to support personal and academic success.
"Prioritizing mental health and overall well-being is not just an act of self-care — it’s an investment in academic success. WVPU Wellbeing Week served as a powerful reminder that when we nurture our minds and bodies, we create the foundation for greater focus, resilience and achievement in our studies,” Savoly said.
Wellbeing Week activities included:
- Developing Positive Self-Talk: Attendees learned how to cultivate positive self-talk to enhance confidence, resilience and emotional well-being.
- Finding Calm in Chaos: Well-being Practices to Manage Student Stress. Students discovered evidence-based practices to help reduce stress and maintain a sense of calm in academic life.
- Clay Therapy: The community experienced the therapeutic benefits of working with clay, enhancing mindfulness and creativity.
- Developing Positive Self-Talk: Workshoppers learned how to cultivate positive self-talk to enhance confidence, resilience and emotional well-being.
- Creating a Vision Board: Students designed a personal vision board to visualize goals and aspirations, inspiring motivation and direction.
- Reggaetón Dance Class: Webster Vienna hosted an energizing Reggaetón dance class to relieve stress, boost energy and have fun.
