Background and Facts

Jana Reißmann came to Vienna in 2009 to study for her B.A. in Cultural and Social Anthropology. During her M.A. studies in German as a Foreign and Second Language and Political Science, she began teaching German classes in Vienna with a focus on refugee contexts. Currently, she is conducting research on “Drama Pedagogy” for her M.A. thesis. 

Ms. Reißmann gained considerable experience in designing curricula and teaching German courses from beginner to advanced levels in Vienna  (e.g. at Volkshochschule Wien and IES Abroad Vienna) as well as in Tunisia (e.g. at Getusion Tunis), where she was also a Teaching Assistant for Austrian Culture, History, and Politics at the University of Manouba. She has also regularly conducted workshops on language acquisition, holistic learning, and educational technologies for colleagues at Volkshochschule Wien and Verband Österreichischer Volkshochschulen.

Apart from teaching, Jana works on movie projects, participates in literature circles, and enjoys learning French.
