Christof Muigg is a doctoral candidate at the University of Vienna’s Institute of History specializing in the military and diplomatic history of the Habsburg Monarchy during the Early Modern period (supervisor: Univ. Prof. Dr. Dorothea Nolde). As a cultural historian, he works with theories and methodologies from fields such as Historical Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Postcolonial Studies and Gender Studies.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Mr. Muigg studied English, American Studies and Philosophy at the Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna, earning his BA in Philosophy (2013) and MA in History (2016), with distinction, from the University of Vienna. In addition to his work as a member of the research group Diplomacy in Conflict: Conflict Management in Early Modern Diplomacy, as well as serving as a Doctoral Fellow at the Vienna Doctoral Academy: Theory and Methodology in the Humanities, Mr. Muigg has also worked as a cultural mediator for the Museum of Military History in Vienna for many years.
