Academic Calendars and Course Schedules

The Academic Term Dates and Course Schedules are listed below. Please read the following important information before viewing the course schedules. If you have any additional questions please contact your Academic Advisor. 

CREDIT HOURS:
Courses are offered for 3-credits and for 8-weeks unless otherwise specified.

CROSS-LISTED COURSES:
Cross-listed courses (combined courses offered for different programs) are denoted by the superscripts "CL".

GENERAL PREREQUISITES   

  • Completion of WRIT 2000 - Advanced Composition is required before enrolling in 3000 level courses.  
  • It is highly recommended that all course levels be taken in sequence (e.g. 1000s before 2000s; 2000s before 3000s etc.)  
  • BUSN 2750/MATH 3200 (Statistics) is a prerequisite to all 4000 level courses in the Business and Management program as well as MNGT 3500, ECON 3020 and FINC 3210. BUSN 2750/MATH 3200 cannot be taken concurrently to these courses. Other MNGT 3000-level courses can be taken without having completed statistics unless otherwise stated. 
  • MATH 1470 - Survey of Calculus is a local requirement for ECON 3020- Intermediate Microeconomics and ECON 3030 - Intermediate Macroeconomics
  • All Capstone courses as follows can only be taken once all other courses from the major have been completed: MNGT 4900/BUSN 4990 MNGT 4940, MNGT 4920 and MNGT 4600.  

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP PROGRAM (GCP)     
The superscripts GCP: CRI,…etc. indicate the following Global Citizenship Program Requirement(s) fulfilled by the given course.

  • Courses with knowledge areas:  ROC: Roots of Culture, SSHB: Social Systems & Human Behavior, PNW: Physical and Natural World, GLBL: Global Understanding, ARTS: Arts Appreciation, QL: Quantitative Literacy  
  • Courses with skills areas:  CRI: Critical Thinking, ETH: Ethical Reasoning, INTC: Intercultural Competence, OCOM: Oral Communication, WCOM: Written Communication  

REQUISITE COMPETENCIES (RC)  
Depending on placement test scores, undergraduate students may be required to take Requisite Competency (RC) courses in composition, mathematics, and computer applications during their first year of enrollment at WUV.   
Students must pass these courses with a grade of C- or better, and they may not be dropped/withdrawn from the courses.

Summer, 2016 Course Schedule
Term Dates: May 16* - July 8, 2016

The university will be closed on the following Austrian public holidays. Make-up classes will be scheduled for classes that would normally meet on these days:

  • May 16, 2016 (Pfingst Monday) * This should be the first day of classes but the university will be closed on this day. Make-up classes will be held for classes that would normally meet on this day.
  • May 26, 2016 (Corpus Christi)

Fall I, 2016 Course Schedule
Term Dates: August 22 - October 14, 2016
Semester Dates: August 22 - December 9, 2016
Break-week: October 17 - 21, 2016

Fall II, 2016 Course Schedule
Term Dates: October 24 - December 16

The university will be closed on the following Austrian public holidays. Make-up classes will be scheduled for classes that would normally meet on these days:

  • October 26, 2016 (National Holiday)
  • November 1, 2016 (All Saints Day)
  • December 8, 2016 (Immaculate Conception)

Spring I, 2017 Course Schedule
Term Dates: January 16 - March 10, 2017
Semester Dates: January 16 - May 5, 2017
Break-week: March 13 - 17, 2017

Spring II, 2017 Course Schedule
Term Dates: March 20 - May 12, 2017
Break-week: May 15 - 19, 2017

The university will be closed on the following Austrian public holidays. Make up classes will be scheduled for classes that would normally meet on these days:

  • April 17, 2017 (Easter Monday)
  • May 1, 2017 (Labor Day)
