Dr. Workie on The Prohibited Fruits for Germany

Business and Management Associate Professor Dr. Menbere Workie is publishing a monthly commentary on economics and finance in HN Komentare, the most readable Economic Newsletter in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. His latest commentary was dealing with the question of what makes the German economy so successful.

Research Seminar | "Shopping by swiping: What drives users to make purchases with their mobile phones?"

The presentation provides a journey through the typical stages of a research project involving a quantitative survey as it may be conducted in a marketing-related master thesis. It will provide insights into research about impact factors on consumers’ intention to shop with their mobile phones, a behavior that is rapidly increasing in many industries.

Student Life Awards 2017

On Wednesday, April 26th, Webster hosted the second annual Student Life Awards in the atrium to honor students for exceptional work both on campus and in the community. The formal evening recognized students for their dedication and offered a well-deserved moment to celebrate. The nomination committee comprised of two undergrad students, one graduate student, one staff member, and one faculty member. Students Josh Stern and Alexis Wing hosted, and guest performer, Atum Jones played two mesmerizing pieces on the guitar.

Research Seminar by Dr. Eskerod

The Business and Management Department held another Research Seminar within its new event series. This time Dr. Pernille Eskerod, research expert on project management and stakeholder management, provided insights into her latest research work and techniques to students, staff and faculty. Her research seminar was based on a case study on the 50-year-old Astoria Bridge that connects the American states Oregon and Washington. Dr.

Webster Visits OPEC

On Friday, April 21st, a group of enthusiastic Webster Vienna students visited the OPEC offices. As a part of WEBMUN, a student organized model UN club, the members were invited to see the facilities. While at the offices they had a tour, met the Secretariat, and closed with a Q&A session. Student Daniil Titov said, "The trip to OPEC was fascinating as the students could learn vital facts about the structure and day to day operations of the organization.
