Dr. Pollak Appointed as New Director

Dr. Johannes Pollak has been appointed director of the Webster Vienna campus, as announced by Peter Maher, associate vice president of Academic Affairs, International Campuses and Initiatives at Webster University in St. Louis.

Pollak has served as interim director of the Vienna campus since July 2016. He joined Webster University in 2009 as professor of Political Science.

For one Webster Vienna student, dropping by an event held by the business and management department led to him landing an internship with Bloomberg. Many thanks to Alexandra Deubner from the Career Development Center for organizing the interviews, and supporting our students by checking their CVs and giving a preparation workshop. This is the first success in Vienna's ongoing efforts to promote job placement opportunities for students.

Research Seminar | "Shopping by swiping: What drives users to make purchases with their mobile phones?"

The presentation provides a journey through the typical stages of a research project involving a quantitative survey as it may be conducted in a marketing-related master thesis. It will provide insights into research about impact factors on consumers’ intention to shop with their mobile phones, a behavior that is rapidly increasing in many industries.

Student Life Awards 2017

On Wednesday, April 26th, Webster hosted the second annual Student Life Awards in the atrium to honor students for exceptional work both on campus and in the community. The formal evening recognized students for their dedication and offered a well-deserved moment to celebrate. The nomination committee comprised of two undergrad students, one graduate student, one staff member, and one faculty member. Students Josh Stern and Alexis Wing hosted, and guest performer, Atum Jones played two mesmerizing pieces on the guitar.
