Vienna Night Run 2017!

This past week, Webster Vienna students participated in the exciting Vienna Night Run! The 5 km run is an annual event in Vienna with thousands of participants showing up to support the charity "Licht für die Welt." This year, Webster Vienna's team had 15 enthusiastic runners sprinting across the finish-line.

The run followed a historic course around the famed Ringstrasse, beginning in front of the Rathaus (City Hall) and finishing in front of Parliament. Along the route, different performers and cheer-squads were positioned to encourage runners all the way to the finish.

Of our Webster Vienna runners, our fastest male participant was Frank Jensen speeding in at 00:24:10:2 and our fastest female runner was Ivona Draganova coming in at 00:24:57:5.

When asked about her experience at the run, Webster student Anastasiia Hizenko said, "As for me, it's to a very large extent the common spirit of all the people participating that were giving me the power to run. Some sort of a synergy seemed to be between all of us, because from what I saw, no matter how hard it was for everyone, nobody stopped or just simply left the marathon. The goal was to make it to the finish, and the reward was an understanding of how much our mind and, therefore, our body can be inspired by others."

Congratulations to all of our runners!
