General Science: Global Climate Change

 

Annett Bartsch is a geographer specialized in the application of satellite data for environmental and climate change monitoring. She received her diploma from the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany in 2000 and her PhD from The University of Reading, UK in 2004. She joined Vienna University of Technology as post doctoral researcher in 2004. She has been awarded two fellowships from the Austrian Science Fund and completed her habilitation in 2010 with focus on Arctic monitoring. In the following she has been visiting professor at Salzburg University and LMU Munich, and has been substitute head of the climate change impact section of ZAMG, Vienna. She is currently board member of the Austrian Polar Research Institute, faculty member of the doctoral college GIScience at Salzburg University and CEO of the b.geos GmbH.

Dr. Bartsch particular interest is in the variability of the cryosphere and interdisciplinary aspects. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters. For a list of her publications, please see her research gate profile
