Legal Information for Internships

 Students who are non EU, EEA or Swiss citizens normally need a work permit for Austria. However, this rule does not apply for students undertaking an internship as part of their studies at an Austrian accredited university. Webster Vienna students who are non EU, EEA or Swiss citizens can complete an internship for credit without applying for a work permit in Austria. The internship, paid or unpaid, can be up to six months in total. The internship provider is required to register student participating in the internship program at the Austrian Employment Service (AMS) using the AMS form “Anzeige eines Ferial- oder Berufspraktikums oder Volontariats” available for download at:
