“The Payoffs from Investing into Information and Communication Technology”: An Empirical Exploration.
Research Seminar by Dr. Menbere Workie
Wednesday, 31st May 2017
16:30 - 17:30
The presentation will cover both the theoretical framework of understanding the link between information and communication technology (ICT) investment and economic growth as well as measurement issues in order to quantify the payoffs from investing into the ICT sector using the data of advancing economies. The presentation will also look into the competitiveness of the European Union in the ICT sector and empirically examines the constraints of ICT usage in the EU. In order to address this, we use a binomial logit model with robust standard errors to figure out the causes of households’ lack of access to internet in the EU.
