Future Challenges for China's Foreign Policy

China has come a long way in its foreign relations over the past 70 years. The changes have been dramatic and transformative. China is poised to become more important for all nations in the years ahead. But, like all nations, it faces a number of challenges at present and into the future, especially now that it is a major global power. In this public lecture, Professor Shambaugh will draw on his new book China & the World in his observations.

Professor David Shambaugh is an internationally recognized authority and author on contemporary China and the international relations of Asia, with a strong interest in the European Union and transatlantic issues. His areas of expertise include China’s domestic politics; China’s foreign relations; China’s military and security; and international relations of Asia. See here for more information.
