Erasmus Plus

Erasmus Traineeships

Deadline February 18, 2019

This year WVPU obtained funding from the Erasmus+ program to financially support students at the graduate or undergraduate level interested in doing a traineeship (work placement, internship, etc.) outside of Austria* (see below the list of eligible destinations). The internship duration should be 2 months and the monthly stipend is between € 400 and € 500 depending on the destination country. The traineeship needs to be relevant to your study program and may be carried out at any organization, with exception of EU institutions, bodies and agencies. It is the responsibility of the student to find the traineeship placement but the WVPU career center might provide some additional support.

The Erasmus+ grant can be received in addition to any salary to be paid for your traineeship and in addition to federal grant for students (“Studienbeihilfe”). Students with children or students with special needs can apply for an additional financial aid.

The traineeship grant is also available for recent graduates. In this case you must apply while still being enrolled at WVPU and the traineeship must take place within one year of your graduation. A combination of a traineeship with a study period abroad is also possible. If you need to take a language course before your traineeship you will have access to Erasmus+ Online Linguistic Support.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we suggest to follow these steps:

1)    First you need to find your traineeship placement. Please confirm with the company/organization that they accept interns through the Erasmus+ Program. You will need an official letter of invitation in order to apply for the Erasmus Grant.

2)    Only after your traineeship placement is secured, you can submit your application for the financial support to WVPU. Students will be selected based on their academic progress and the relevance of the internship for their studies. Students thus must submit a brief explanation (500 words) of the intended activities during the traineeship and how it relates to their studies.
