Program Director of Gross National Happiness Centre in Bhutan at Webster Vienna

On Thursday, January 22, a group of about 60 people came to hear Dr. Tho Ha Vinh, the program director of the Gross National Happiness (GNH) Centre in Bhutan, give an overview of the concept of GNH, the implementation of this alternative paradigm for economic development in the Kingdom of Bhutan, and the importance of taking happiness and well-being into account in any measurement of development.

Dr. Arthur Hirsh gives a speech on “The End of History Re-Visited”

On November 7th, 2014, Dr. Arthur Hirsh gave an invited Keynote Speech in Berlin at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy’s Annual Conference entitled, “A World without Walls.” This conference marked the historic occasion of the 25 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall.

Founded in 1999, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD) is an international, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) with headquarters in Berlin, Germany.

Deans honor

Congratulations to Dean's List Honorees!

In recognition of academic excellence, a Dean’s List is compiled each academic semester. To qualify, students must complete at least 12 credit hours at Webster University, of which no fewer than 6 credit hours must have regular letter grades. All enrolled coursework must be successfully completed, with no Incomplete or Withdrawn grades recorded. Qualified students who achieve a current semester GPA of 3.80 or higher will be placed on the Dean’s List for that semester.

On Friday evening, September 26th, Webster Vienna Academic Director Dr. Regina Kecht invited all Webster Scholars Program students, support staff, and faculty to her home to celebrate the beginning of the academic year and the incoming Webster Scholars cohort.
After enjoying a wonderful buffet, Webster Scholars Program coordinator Dr. Dorothy Kopel discussed upcoming events and underlined the program coordinators' desire that the program remain in constant creation and respond to the aspirations of its scholars.

Congratulations to Samia Geldner, Dept. Head of English at the Webster Vienna campus, on the highly successful workshop "The Trans-disciplinary Functions of the English Programs" that she organized and held this past weekend. She did this in collaboration with Abbott Chrisman (MFA) from Geneva.
