NUS Students at Webster Vienna

This June, the International Relations Department of Webster Vienna had the opportunity to host UG students from the National University of Singapore (NUS). After Munich and Prague, Vienna was their last stop as part of the European Studies Programme, organized by the Munich International Summer University, Ludwig-Maximilians-Univeristät München.

IR Students at OSCE Expert Meeting on Migration

Global Master of Arts in International Relations Rachelle Douillard-Proulx and Vienna Master of Arts in International Relations student Kathryn Witkowski joined the Organization for Co-operation and Security in Europe (OSCE) expert meeting on migration issues on Friday, June 17.

Schubert Presentation at EP Committee on Development in Brussels

Dr. Schubert presented a study conducted in collaboration with Maxilimiano Mendez Parra of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and Dr. Elina Brutschin at the Committee on Development of the European Parliament, Brussels, on June 20, 2016.

New EU-Asia and EU-China Articles by Franco Algieri

International Relations Department Head Dr. Franco Algieri analyzes current policies of the European Union towards Asia and towards China in the recent ‘Jahrbuch der Europäischen Integration 2015’ (Yearbook on European Integration), edited by Profs. Weidenfeld and Wessels.

The yearbook offers regular scholarly analyses and documentations of the European integration process and the policies of the EU.

Webster IR Students at RAUN

Webster IR Students Anda Radu and Theresa Rüth participated at RAUN 2015/16. Anda shares her experience:

"RAUN stands for Regional Academy on the United Nations. For 10 months, it offered me a space to develop an International Relations (IR) - related research paper and the chance to meet extraordinary people.

Delegation back from Model United Nations Singapore

A twelve student delegation from Webster Vienna Private University traveled to Singapore from February 18th to 24th to participate in Asia’s most renowned Model United Nations Conference at Nanyang Technical University (NTUMUN)

Led by Webster Model UN Club co-founder Dennis Heumann, the members of the delegation are: future WebMUN Secretary-General Sofija Lozovic, Tobias Salfellner, Artyom Rayeveski, Lilla Ozorakova, Daniil Titov, Lisa Diepliner, Illayda Edali, Andra Mikhelson, Ahmed Ahmed, Pavel Agababyan and Yaroslav Ilenco.

ORF: Pollak on Russian Gas and Sanctions

Thursday February 18th, 2016, Prof. Johannes Pollak appeared on Austrian National Television's (ORF) ECO Magazin, commenting on Austrian energy producer OMV's ambitions for an asset swap with the Russian Gazprom despite ongoing EU sanctions. Dr. Pollak argues that the expectation for increasing gas consumption in Austria justifies the OMV's long-term strategy. Watch the whole segment here.
