On Friday, 2nd October, 2015 Webster Vienna Private University, in cooperation with Vienna Business Week, hosted an entrepreneurial breakfast & panel discussion on the topic "What's the right age to start your business?". More and more entrepreneurs are starting at a young age, even dropping out of university to put their ideas to a test. What particular challenges do young entrepreneurs face? What advice can successful peers give them?

CROWDFUNDING - A Panel Discussion with Industry Insiders

Crowdfunding represents one of the most promising means of financing new businesses, innovative ideas and projects in their seed and early phase. Therefore the growth in crowdfunding volume worldwide has been staggering. Webster Vienna invited industry insiders, crowdfunding platform owners as well as successful crowdfunding entrepreneurs to share their experiences and knowledge with our students, entrepreneurship community and the wider public.

Change Agents at Work – Reflecting upon Change Leadership presented by Dr. Pernille Eskerod

In our fast-paced world, the ability to cope with change is crucial. Research shows, however, that about 70% of all change initiatives fail. To become better change leaders we need to understand the role of change agents. This lecture will address the WHO and the HOW questions. Who should be the change agents within an organization? Top management, middle management, project managers, intern or external consultants, peer-employees, or all of them? – and how should the change agents try to induce aimed-for change?

New Fall course offering: Leadership Through People Skills

Undergraduate and Graduate students enrolled in degree programs that require MNGT elective credits are invited to register for this 1-week intensive 3-credit seminar course on Leadership Through People Skills.

Please note: There are no prerequisites required for graduate students. Undergraduate students must have a Junior or Senior Standing and a min. GPA of 3.30 (WebsterLeads students will be given priority).

Meeting the founders of Shpock

On Friday, 26th June 2015 Katharina Klausberger & Armin Strbac, the founders of the app Shpock (SHop in your POCKet) shared their experiences on how they started a successful award-winning online flea market in Austria. They provided guests and students of the MNGT 3100 “Start-ups in eCommerce” course with various interesting insights on what it means to work as an entrepreneur, about the essence of a great team as well as the importance of a shared vision.

Panel Discussion on Successful Entrepreneurship in Austria
