Leadership Spotlight Highlights: Women in The Business Sector

Know what you want, and go for it. IBM Austria’s CEO Patricia Neumann highlighted her ambitious path to success during a recent Leadership Spotlight Lecture, hosted by Webster Vienna Private University and Business program Adj. Prof. Dr. Andrea Gaal. Neumann spoke about her journey and gave an overview of her career, including her top tips on succeeding in the tech sector.

In addition to the insightful discussion with IBM Austria’s CEO, students enjoyed a session with Lydia Goutas of Lehner Executive Partners, on The Art of Re-Inventing Yourself in Your Career. Goutas gave an overview of her personal career journey, keys to success in the post-COVID- 19 economy and why re-inventing yourself is a key ingredient to long-term success in the world of business.

Exploring relationships between gender, culture and attitudes towards IT among university students

One of the challenges in our digital world is the democratization of the human-machine interaction for personal and economic growth. This field is also one of the fastest-growing ones in psychology research and career development. As an example: 57% of tertiary graduates in Europe are women, but only 24,9% of them graduate in ICT-related fields. Among 8 million ICT specialists in the EU, only less than 17 % are females. In this event, Dr. Mykhailenko and Ms. Velásquez will present the results of their most recent findings in this field.

Webster Vienna Students Earned Virtual Euros

Representatives from Morpher, an online stock trading platform based in Vienna, are collaborating with two business and management courses this Spring Semester on a stock market trading simulation. Students from Dr. Antonakakis’ International Trade and Finance course as well as Dr. Workie’s Principles of Finance will compete against their classmates to earn virtual Euros on the stock market.

Webster Vienna Students Gain Insight into Modern Business Challenges

Engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is one of the greatest forthcoming challenges and ethical concerns for modern business. As a part of Webster Vienna’s graduate elective course Corporate Responsibility and Society, our MBA students Bailey, Maksym, Inna, and Fatmir gained insight into ALDI SOUTH Group’s CSR practices. ALDI SOUTH Group is better known in Austria as HOFER, the popular discount supermarket chain.

A second-year student of Business Administration shares her experience of studying at an American university in the heart of Europe, and her everyday life as a student at the Webster Vienna Private University.
