Webster University global recruiting webinar with World Bank
Webster University Career Services and Career Planning & Development teams in Geneva, St. Louis, Leiden and Vienna collaborated together to create a unique opportunity for students to meet and interact with an international recruiter from the World Bank.
On Wednesday, April 22, students from these four campuses participated in a Webster University global recruiting webinar with Mr. Roberto Amorosino, Senior Recruitment Officer, Talent Acquisition Team at the World Bank. Mr. Amorosino gave an overview of the World Bank, presented the variety of career opportunities available plus gave tips on how to be a successful candidate. This interactive webinar invited students to ask questions about the organization and their hiring practices. With staff from over 170 countries present in 120 offices worldwide, the webinar gave our students a chance to learn more about how they could join this international team whose goals are to end extreme poverty and build shared prosperity. In addition, the World Bank was able to witness Webster’s international presence. “This was truly a global career development experience. Through advanced technology, our students were able to interact with an international recruiter while engaging with fellow students from our national and international campuses", said Trezette Dixon, Assistant Director, Employer Relations of the St. Louis campus.
After the one hour video conference, Vienna students had the unique chance to meet Dr. Mehdi Ali who shared his wealth of personal and professional experience at World Bank. Dr. Ali, an adjunct faculty member of the Vienna campus has 32 years of professional experiences with international organizations: 18 years as Senior Economist with the World Bank, 4 years as Director with the OPEC Fund , and 10 years as Director with the United Nations in Vienna, and in Egypt. Thank you Dr. Ali for taking the time and answering all the questions of our students.
