Webster LEADS Retreat: Pistoia 2018

Leadership fun under the Italian sun. That was our motto for this year’s Webster LEADS Leadership retreat in Pistoia, Italy. And, though, the weather didn’t really hold up to Italian standards, it didn’t shadow the mood of our 30 LEADS students from the Geneva, Leiden and Vienna campus.

Every year, the European campuses get together for an intense 3 day retreat filled with workshops, activities and excursions to extend their knowledge about leadership and to further their own skills. Ice breakers, NSO scenarios, talent shows, small and big group activities and a highly anticipated excursion to Florence were part of the daily schedule.
Organized by the Student Resource Coordinators of the respective campuses and led by senior leaders from Geneva, Leiden and Vienna, the students also had time during the retreat to bond with each other and make connections beyond campus walls. Even last minute decisions for studying abroad were made in a mere 72 hours.

Keeping with the tradition of the past years, our students stayed in a beautiful 16th century villa in Tuscany and were spoiled to authentic, hand-made Italian meals every day. No better way to get to know each other than over some Italian pasta and panna cotta dinners.

Thank you so much to our organizers and to our sponsor Mag. Elisabeth Windbrechtinger from Star Immobilientreuhand Ges.m.b.H. for making this retreat possible! It was truly a time filled with “lollipop moments”. We can’t wait to see how our “LEADS peeps” are going to apply their skills in the coming semester within the campus community.
