Webster European Talent Show and Football Tourney

Last weekend, the Webster European community came together on our Geneva campus for the annual weekend festivities surrounding Webster's Got Talent Europe and the Webster European Football Tournament.

Aspiring artists and footballers from the Vienna, Geneva and Leiden campuses went head-to-head on Saturday, first with a five-team indoor football tournament followed by an evening talent show, featuring the winners of each campus' local competition.

A spirited tournament ended with Team Leiden taking home the title, narrowly defeating Team Geneva A in a heartbreaking final decided by an own goal late. Vienna Team B put in a quality showing, reaching the semi-final based on solid defence led by Tournament MVP Ahmed Ahmed.

Following the title match, a mixed Webster team played a friendly against a team of asylum seekers who've been practicing with Geneva students. Goalkeeper Ivee Sanasinh and Coach Tanju Cengiz represented Vienna for the Webster side.

Later in the evening it was the performers' turn to shine, taking the stage in front of faculty, staff, students, the football teams, and a panel of celebrity judges. Geneva's Kuhle Dumba won with his stand-up comedy routine, while runner-up went to Vienna's spoken word poet Ellen Faye Adams.

Many thanks to our wonderful hosts and event organizers: Geneva Student Affairs, LEADS students, and football club.
