Student Government hosts International Food Fest

Mouths were watering at Palais Wenkheim on Tuesday, as the atrium filled with the aromas, sights, and sounds of the world over at Webster's International Food Festival. Hosted by the Student Government Association (SGA) and organized by students Anna Bleakley and Alexis Wing, the event included heaps of dishes prepared by students, staff and faculty, food-themed international music, and a raffle for prizes. Some of the more exotic dishes included Canadian poutine (french fries, cheese and gravy), specialities from Benin, and an entire table of Romanian delicacies. The prizes were generously donated by local businesses, the happy result of SGA President Ivee Sanasinh's efforts. The proceeds were donated to a charity chosen by the students, Who I am, a charity active in schools around the globe that meet regularly to organize artistic and creative activities involving the entire school community.

Co-organiser Wing said of the event, ""Webster's international food festival was a great success. This year's turnout was amazing!" The event has become an annual tradition, and we look forward to next year's edition!

SGA would like to thank all sponsors who contributed to the event: RamienGo, Roo Bar, Billabong Australian Bar, Fresh'go, Vapiano, Vienna Vikings, Prosi Exotic Supermarket, Paddys&Co Pubs, TGI Friday's.
