NUS Students at Webster Vienna

This June, the International Relations Department of Webster Vienna had the opportunity to host UG students from the National University of Singapore (NUS). After Munich and Prague, Vienna was their last stop as part of the European Studies Programme, organized by the Munich International Summer University, Ludwig-Maximilians-Univeristät München.

At Palais Wenkhaim students attended intense one-week lectures on various EU topics: the EU and Austrian neutrality, the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), EU-Russia relations, the Eastern Partnership and specifically European Asia Policies. All lectures were taught by IR Department Head, Dr. Franco Algieri, expert on European and Asian Security Studies.
Outside the classroom, our guests experienced Vienna, the capital of art and culture. One of the afternoon walks ended with the famous ‘melange’ coffee in one of the well-known Viennese "Kaffehäuser", Café Hawelka. Students particularly enjoyed the visit to the UN Headquarters in Vienna, gaining valuable insights into the organization’s work, the IAEA and the UNOOSA (UN Office for Outer Space Affairs).
