Dr. Brutschin at Kobe Sakura Meeting 2015
Together with Zorzeta Bakaki (ETH Zurich), IR research faculty Dr. Elina Brutschin presented their common research project entitled “The Competition over Resources: A New Approach in the Context of Low-Scale Violence” in Kobe, Japan.
The fifth “International Conference for Collaborative Research” (April 8-10, 2015) was hosted by the Graduate School of Law, Kobe University and coordinated by Prof. Atsushi Tago. Other sponsors of the Kobe Sakura Meeting are the CROP-IT Project (JSPS), the Suntory Foundation and the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation. One of the pronounced main goals of the conference series is to foster a deeper relationship between leading European and Japanese scholars in their respective fields.
The conference was organized around five thematic hotspots: troops and stability, the dynamics of violence in civil wars, public opinion and international relations, onset of civil war and democracies and conflict.
