Business and Management Adjunct Professor Dr. Ali at High-Level Oil Meeting in Singapore
From October 27-28, 2016 Dr. Mehdi Ali, Adjunct Professor at the Business and Management Department, participated at an international conference for senior executives of the global oil industry players such as BP, Shell, Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Aramco in Singapore. In his presentation about "OPEC and its Role in the Current and Future Oil Market" Dr. Ali stressed that 2016 is a turning point in OPEC as low oil prices decimated the financial situations of its members and the emergence of oil shale companies as major competitors if oil prices recover. This coupled with reluctance of some OPEC and Non-OPEC oil producers to agree to oil production cut will lead to continuation of oil glut in the market and hence low oil prices for some time to come.
Dr. Mehdi Ali is teaching Finance and Economics at Webster Vienna Private University.
