Borealis AG Scholarships Inspired Webster Vienna Students to Make an Impact

By awarding the generous scholarship contribution to Webster Vienna Private University students, Borealis AG has provided financial aid to qualified students of less than favorable economic backgrounds, while emphasizing the value of higher education.

Similarly to the Borealis AG goal that aims to proactively benefit society by taking on real societal challenges and offering real solutions – their scholarships inspired students to help others and give back to the community.

In 2016, Borealis made a generous scholarship contribution to Webster Vienna Private University through three different types of scholarship grants. The scholarships are designed to serve as motivation and recognition for high achieving students, which can ease the financial liability of tuition for recipients and allow them to focus on their degrees.

At this year’s Commencement Ceremony at Hofburg Palace in Vienna, the first recipients of the scholarships graduated with degrees presented by Univ. Prof. Dr. Johannes Pollak.  Dr. Pollak thanked Borealis for its generosity and commitment to supporting advanced education at the University.

One of the grant recipients,  Katarina Jelic, expressed her appreciation stating: ”There are not enough words for me to describe how grateful I am that I was lucky enough to have found, not one, but two, amazing partners, Webster and Borealis, both have guided and supported me during the past three years of my life”.

The collective students who received Borealis scholarships and graduated were Marie Theres Huber (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology), Janine Goeschl (Bachelor of Arts in Management with an emphasis in Marketing, Bachelor of Science in Business Adminstration), Marlene Pruschak (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications), Rafael Rodrigues Radischat (Bachelor of Arts in Management with an emphasis in International Business) and Katarina Jelic (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration).

They promised to continue with strong work ethic and eventually give back, both as professionals in their field and possibly fund scholarships to future students in similar positions.

Borealis Scholarships at Webster Vienna Private University are provided from the Borealis Social Fund and form part of the company’s strategic social engagement strategy to support education. Webster Vienna is very proud to have such a generous partner in Borealis.
