The Webster University Alumni Association Vienna Chapter Welcomes Their New President
It is our pleasure to introduce to you the new president of the Vienna Chapter of the Webster University Alumni Association, Mr. Franz Weber (MBA/Finance ’95)
Mr. Weber has been an active participant in the Vienna Chapter since its formation in 2005 and follows in the footsteps of Mr. Stefano Cantini who served as president for the past twelve years.
We decided to get to know Mr. Weber a little bit better by asking a couple of questions.
Can you tell us more about your studies at Webster Vienna Private University and why you chose to study with us?
I was, at that time, looking for a possibility to join an MBA program which is designed for people who are already working full time. I found this at Webster Vienna. In addition, I was granted a scholarship from the Austrian National Bank and these two factors confirmed my decision to start with my MBA at Webster Vienna Private University.
What opportunity has Webster given to you that is of great value to you?
Definitely the possibility to study together with such a diverse group of students.
What challenges do you expect to come during your first year, and what are you looking forward to?
The biggest challenge will be to reach all of the alumni. Thus, I would ask everyone who has not done so already, to update his/her contact data here: http://webster.ac.at/alumni#StayConnected!
Can you comment on your vision and plans for the alumni Association during your term as President?
My vision is to involve as much of the more than 3.000 alumni as possible in the various activities and events organized by the university and the alumni chapter.
We plan to showcase with our activities all the outstanding personalities among the alumnus and their achievements in order to motivate young people to join the Webster family as well.
I am very much looking forward to working together with the alumni team and the members of the university staff, and of course I am excited to meet as many alumni in person as possible at the various events through out the year.
Thank you Mr. Weber, we are happy to have you on board and wish you all the best.
