Academic Undergraduate Advising

With a variety of courses and degree options to choose from, planning your academic future can be a challenge. To help you get the most out of your degree, you will be assigned an Academic Advisor to provide personalized guidance throughout the year and your entire program of study. Your Academic Advisor can be reached via phone or email. You can also schedule an appointment for a personal meeting or stop by during posted office hours. The Academic Advisors are here to provide you with information, advise, and support on numerous issues, including:

New Students

All new Webster students will take a First Year Seminar (FRSH 1200). The first year seminars are meant to create an exciting learning experience and sense of community, while encouraging students to think critically and express themselves clearly.

The seminars deal with a variety of topics. During new student orientation, you will be asked to indicate which seminar you would like to take. The advisors will take your preference into account, along with the results of your math and writing placement tests, to set up your fall schedule. You will be able to review your schedule and ask any questions you have in a one-on-one appointment with your advisor near the end of orientation.

First Year Seminar (FRSH 1200) course descriptions are available here.
